Save a bit of money now, pay more later

Can Australia afford the Coalition’s NBN?

No doubt the writer is biased, but this article does set out in pretty good detail the reasons I have read elsewhere why the Coalition's planned revision to the NBN is not technically or financially a good idea.

Check out the conclusion - is this a really poor and misleading sentence, or just completely naked bias?

"At a whopping two-thirds of the cost of the vastly-superior FTTP NBN, the Coalition’s NBN stacks up as waste of money."

I mean, if the Coalition NBN is just two thirds of the Labor NBN and is still whopping....

Isn't it simply the case that "super whopping" can still be better than "whopping" if the product lasts a long, long time, has low maintenance costs, and therefore represents real value?
