It's pretty underwhelming, I reckon. I was expecting something that was going to go more to quantum mysteries - like a DID sufferer having one personality in another part (or observing a different part) of the Many Worlds multiverse. That would be a bit more Phillip K Dick-ish.
I don't even really get the problem - why shouldn't separate conglomerations of mini-consciousness think they are separate from, and have their own character that came out of, the universal consciousness?
