The use of a metaphor (the beaver) as a code for what they are really talking about actually protects women's integrity in my opinion.

Okay, the ogling guys are a bit much, but I thought it was poking fun at guys more than anything. After all it's taking men's desire to ogle to an absurd extreme and making them look idiotic (staring at a rodent).

Can we take it as just some good-natured humour?

I object on the basis of their stupidity and the r...

I object on the basis of their stupidity and the revulsion factor.

Remember the "colored" tampon ads Steve - "my bosses eyes: ooohhh, blue" - and so on. Eeewwwweeeee. It as a TAMPON AD for gawd's sake!!!

Sheesh.

Talk about icky, icky.

As for the marketing research for this latest inspiration, well, I think they already had this distasteful idea up their sleeve, since "beaver" only came in at number 11 of the list of euphemisms used by young women.

The other odd and offensive thing is this notion that their target market is 18 to 24 year old women.

They're not exactly aiming for a large or life-long demographic, unless the good marketing folk believe that menopause kicks in at 25. (Well, marketing people aren't very bright.)

Definitely a two thumbs down from me. I just find it all hideously revolting, and yes, debasing.

At least it took Traaceeeee's mind off the bay dredging, which is a blessed relief.
