You can lead a horse to water....

75% of the people who download Firefox don't become active users | Technology | Guardian Unlimited

That figure is pretty surprising. I just can't imagine why anyone doesn't use the incredibly customisable Firefox as their preferred browser. (I particularly like adding specialised search engines to it.)

  1. Now those figures really are surprising, but then, I'm always surprised by how little inroad they have made to the market.

IE sucks, yet it still dominates.

On the other hand, everyone I know who is ICT savvy uses Firefox.

    Go figure.

Strange suggestion at the end, ie, that they need to "build a better product".

    Huh?

It's already a better product than anything else out there, and the ability to customize just about everything is fantastic.

It would be awful if it goes the way of the dodo.

  2. A little odd. IE has the advantage of being built into the computers, so it's always the default file that users will turn to out of habit.

Also, maybe a number of industry programs (programs that are used professionally, or used in niche businesses) are tailored to work with Internet Explorer? This is the case at my current workplace.
