Just stumbled across a site with links to live Youtube feeds in Japan.
This one which I find the most remarkable: a near deserted looking entry to Sensoji Temple in Asakusa. Just the occasional person walking through what is probably the busiest tourist temple in Tokyo:
There is another live feed, with a nice view of the actual temple area, but I can't embed it. The link is here though.
The relative lack of pedestrians, and depleted vehicle traffic, at the famous Shibuya crossing is also worth a look:
All this is unnecessary if you are prepared. Think of a demonic 9 year old boy on PCP. He's got nine lives. Murderously crazy. But harmless if your body is well prepared because he's fast but he's weak. I had a break-through today. Because my friends in Manilla were able to get hold of 14 hydroxy-chloroquine pills. They got ripped off because the usual suspects have bought up all the companies making this stuff and may be restricting production. They were being sold for 83.75 pesos per pill. Thats about $2.55c per pill. Whereas a pack of one hundred should cost about 32 dollars. So the markup is about 800 per cent.
ReplyDeleteNonetheless we have enough there so that anyone who wakes up with a sore throat can take one of these pills and eat a can of oysters and get a head start on this critter. They will then have to divert to diet because of the expense of the pills. But the evidence suggests that this virus, and in fact all viruses, are fast but weak. This one is super fast since its a bio-engineered weapon. But if anything its weaker. So I knew we could beat it so long as we could move quickly. So the can of oysters and the pill, then you get to shopping and cooking after that.
