Trump watch

What a baby.

And here he is trying to suck up to the police unions, again, as authoritarians are want to do; as well as making inappropriate pre-trial comments on what will be a high profile case with the potential to cause further rioting:

He has no idea how to be a responsible President.

  1. have you seen the actual footage? it was a tragic incident but the police officers were very polite and proper at first. then for some reason the guy decided to steal their taser, shoot it at them and run away. he was hardly blameless here. what were they supposed to do? only a nutter or someone on drugs would do something like that - let a potentially crazy drunk guy with a taser loose in public? not stop him in the first place and let him drive his car later and plough into someone?

  2. Jason, I can't believe you can't see the point here.

Yes, it is clear that the circumstances of this shooting are going to lead to a contentious trial. That is as plain as day to anyone.

Which makes it especially inappropriate for Trump to be weighing in on it and giving hints to his cult like followers as to which way he thinks they should lean.

Any politician with a couple of brain cells would say "we should let the courts and justice run its course" and leave it at that.

Instead, he says that effectively once and then spends all his other commentary on why it looks like the police really had to do what they had to do, and they are generally treated unfairly.

It's appalling commentary for any politician, let alone a President, especially at this time.

  3. Soony is on the koolaid yet again.
He is accused of drink driving. He is running away with a taser.
That means it is okay to shot and kill him.

Unbelievable. No-one some are rioting against this behaviour.

  5. I said it was a tragedy you illiterate buffoon. they shouldn't be shooting to kill. maybe they were, maybe they weren't but it's probably harder to shoot someone running away in the foot than people imagine?

  7. running away from being detained and with a taser you idiot. this is behaving so oddly after everything else had been so standard that they were right to be suspicious that he should be detained and not running around with a taser.

  8. On the prosecution side: they had already searched him and so knew that he wasn't carrying any other weapon. I think I have read the tazer had been discharged twice - rendering it unable to be used again, is my understanding. They had every right to pursue him, but the question in the circumstances is if it was justifiable to use potentially deadly force in apprehending him/self defence, given the tazer had already been ineffectively shot at them and was (I think) no further threat to them or anyone else.

They don't really have the common defence used by US police "I thought he was reaching for a gun". I presume the defence will revolve around the short time they had to decide how to respond to the tazer possibly being used against them. (In other words, their brain was sort of riding on automatic and didn't have time to compute the tazer was now no danger).

I would not be surprised if there is an acquittal, which will lead to more riots.

Hopefully, Trump is not president at the time of the trial, so the rioters won't remember much about his commenting in favour of the police.

  9. Yeah right Soony

    Talk to a police officer.
they were not threatened, the offence was tiny and if he got away he would be easy to find.

you are as bad as the people you lampoon.

  10. What Trump is trying to do here is he is trying to avoid another death by reminding people not to resist arrest and instead try to deal with police wrong-doing after the fact. Its good advice and it could potentially save a life.
