Institute full of Right wing kook influencers

Ross Douthat had an interesting column recently about the Claremont Institute, the conservative think tank which (I had forgotten) published the absurd Flight 95 Election essay in 2016, that tried to argue the country was on a catastrophic course unless loon Trump took over.

Today, I see that one of its publications has an article by Jim Troupis in which he makes mad claims that the 400 2000 Mules movie shows that the courts failed in not taking the election fraud cases seriously.  Jim Troupis is discussed in this article.

The problem is, of course, that the internet so easily spreads such material into a Right wing disinformation echo chamber audience that finds it convincing.   I mean, these guys sound serious:  they are "influencers" who the gullible see no reason to question.    (And when other Right wing influencers think they are wrong - Tucker Carlson and Ben Shapiro have refused to endorse the 400 2000 Mules theory - they don't want to actually spend time telling their audience that one of their Tribe is wrong and misleading them.)

PS:  don't know 400 got stuck in my mind as the number of Mules.   Just like how I keep thinking "Coorey" is spelt "Cooroy" I guess!  I do write most posts pretty quickly these days, so sue me...:)

  1. Too many conservatives are behaving like spoilt brats. They can't accept that they have lost the climate change argument, the gender debate, the economic argument, the GOP(RINOS!), the Liberal\National Party are now leftist(in their view at least), their great white hope Boris Johnson is a disaster, they are losing the woke argument(I have some sympathy with them), and in desperation have sided with a murderous autocrat because he is a Christian who murders and imprisons anyone who challenges him and who rejects woke and gender trends. They have lost control of the media, the corporations are into climate change, gender tolerance, and woke aware, and worst of all conservatives can't be funny, take themselves far too seriously, consider themselves intellectually and morally superior to everyone else, and complain, complain, complain.

    Conservatives are the biggest losers.

  2. Yes, John, hard to disagree with any of that.

The only thing I think they are on the side of broader public sentiment is transgender guys having an unfair advantage in sports.

  3. You may think they are neo-con kooks and maybe you are right. But it always good to pay attention to the highest quality crowd of folks you disagree with. Claremont institute are peopled by a very erudite and high functioning group of kooks. They used to house Angelo Codevilla. Unfortunately a zionist. But he was probably one of the best war theorists since Clausewitz himself.

  4. Steve you know that you have voter SWINGS in fair elections and voter SPIKES only in fake elections right? I've pointed this out to you so many times. So what is it about your character that still has you lying about this fact of history?

Its true that the deep state cheats more often for Republicans than Democrats. But this wasn't a minor cheat. This one was a colour revolution and obviously so. Now why don't you just admit you were wrong? Why keep on being dishonest over this point?

Can you not be reached? Are you not human? Do you share no Australian values?
