I happen to think that the scientific study of morality is the lever that, if pulled hard enough, will completely dislodge religion from the firmament of our concerns.Why, yes, Sam, the first round of science's attempt to inform ideas of morality went just swimmingly well in the 20th century, didn't it?

More on Morals
There's a short interview with Sam Harris at New Scientist, in which he's talking about his new book in which he argues that morality should simply be based on science. The interview includes this quote:

Harris is a bit of a joke. He thinks he's some kind of intellectual but he only got his status from his hysterical atheist rhetoric and therefore his efforts to act like a scholar are all the more embarrassing.
