ReplyDeleteMacron is the closest thing to a libertarian the French have had for President
ReplyDeleteJason: in the same way, say, John Howard was the closest thing to being a libertarian PM here?
ReplyDeleteOn an unrelated matter - I see that Taleb seems to be into Taube, paleo and working out.
Maybe he suffers from 'roid rage? Would explain a lot.
don't be silly. Macron is a lot more of a consistent libertarian than Howard, he's a social liberal and a free market guy. libertarians should rejoice.

ReplyDeleteall that is old news to anyone who reads his work
The point was more that, like a roid rager, he's too volatile and inconsistent for me to take too much interest in him.
ReplyDeleteMacron's big prob,em maybe deregulating when the economy is weak. This exacerbates bad results whereas if one does it when the economy is humming it exacerbates good results.
