Collateral damage from cosmic rays increases cancer risks for Mars astronauts. New predictive model, published in Scientific Reports, shows radiation from cosmic rays extends from damaged to otherwise healthy 'bystander' cells, effectively doubling cancer riskI think one of the first facilities that would need to be set up in a Mars colony would be a nursing home with palliative care.
All this Mars business is nonsense. Human bodies will fall apart. Even long term orbiting astronauts show a confusing array of symptoms, from CVD issues to vision deterioration. We can't colonise Mars because fetal development will be severely compromised in a low gravity environment.
