Things suddenly looking much, much worse for Republicans
Lots of tweeting going on about an interview Rachel Maddow has done with Parnas - one of the key figures in the Ukraine scandal - in which he is dumping on absolutely everyone from Trump down. He reckons Bolton will back all of this up. As Corn says:

ReplyDeleteBy the way, what I find dismaying about any reaction like Jason's is the way it indicates that Trump and the alternative reality building Right wing media, has successfully (for far too much of the population) shifted the Overton window of what's "not worth getting upset about" in a President so extremely far towards corruption, secrecy and lying.
(I think that's a appropriate use of "Overton window", no?)

There is no evidence of that - it's wingnut rumour mongering of a situation which was reported transparently at the time. The US and other European nations wanted a prosecutor who was holding up investigations sacked, and he was.

You have to be approaching Trump level dumb to think that Biden Snr is so dumb as to brag about getting the prosecutor sacked if he knew it was corrupt protection of his son.

And yes - there has been plenty of criticism from the Left side that Hunter taking that job was a bad look. But that does not make it (necessarily) corrupt.
By the way - I hold no candle for Biden. I think he's too old to be running against Trump, and don't understand his popularity amongst Democrats.
