You're right in that it's pro-Jewish rather than pro-Israeli. The problem for Hamas is not so much that the state of Israel exists, it's the Jewish presence. Should Israel be abolished, then the Jews would be too, along with all other non-conformists, Christians, etc.
But the article is wrong: the destruction of Israel is not a "hallucination", al it would take would be a few small tactical nuclear warheads in a few population concentrations, plus a few more in military form-up areas, and the state would be destroyed.
Under those circumstances, and with all airfields KO'd, a Syrian "restoring order" and "humanitarina" intervention would complete the process.
