The news this morning does little to encourage faith in how TEPCO is handling it all:
THE company responsible for the Fukushima power station evacuated it again after immense levels of radiation were detected in the cooling system of one reactor. There's clearly a need for robust, radiation reading robots.
At one point radiation of 1000 milli-sieverts per hour - a potentially lethal level said to be 10 million times higher than normal - was measured, although the Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) later said that the reading was a mistake, which had not been double-checked because workers had then fled the building. It was nevertheless clear that the situation remains unstable and that radiation continues to escape from the reactor containers.
