Libertarianism and Catholicism are not compatible, and the weird thing is that it seems to be only very conservative Catholics who think it is.

It isn't totally incompatible.
It is more an issue by issue basis.
who died and made you Pope, Homer? aren't you some hyped up evangelical?

you do not have to be Catholic to understand this.
Jason, might I point out that on the big, life and planet changing issue of the next few centuries, Catholic commentary and sentiment from the top has been on the right side of the ledger from the state, while most libertarians have been fighting against it.
Sure, the silliness on contraception has been intellectually embarrassing, but the effect of that has been a mild irritant compared to the damage your side (with few exceptions, I reckon) have been doing to such a vital matter of public policy.
