Someone at the Christian Science Monitor is wondering why the US media seems reluctant or slow to call the weekend Vegas shootings an act of domestic terrorism.
And of course, the guns will turn out to have been legally purchased, I bet.
Update: looks like I was wrong on the legally purchased guns. Mother Jones report indicates they may have received them in response to a plea on Facebook, of all places, for any gun "that can reach out and touch evil tyrant bastards." Of course, it really takes a country with an unusual number of Right wing paranoid gun loving nutters for such a request to be made and receive helpful responses...

You do understand that by definition a criminal is someone who breaks the law, for example, buying guns illegally. You do understand that a criminal is not going to worry too much about the little details, like a license.
Do you think that the spree killers are going to worry about these issues either?
You do understand that the USA does not have a gun problem, it has a culture problem, that is, its in decay.
I assume you think that removing guns will take care of this problem...really, the bad guys will just get them illegally, its not hard.

You see, when people can defend themselves, the bad guys seem to go elsewhere, that would be, where people cannot defend themselves.

Its not hard to think, you should really try it sometime, instead of just following the crowd.
Actually, what I am arguing is that the "bad guys" responsible for mass shootings are frequently mentally disturbed and yet have acquired their guns legally (or have taken the legally purchased guns from their parents.)
The thing is, you can't always tell when a person is going to do something pretty deranged; what you can do is reduce gun ownership overall so that when people snap, they don't have the easy means to blow away strangers at the mall or school in large numbers.
Oh, and congratulations on finding an example of a shoot out at another mall, this time between everyone carrying concealed weapons.
The funny thing is, in most Western countries in the world, you can have extremely low concern that a trip to the cinema, mall or a walk home from the pub will result in a shooting death by a stranger, or witnessing a shootout between concealed carry licensees defending themselves. Not having guns in such circulation as in your country might just have something to do with that, no?

You explicitly used the word defending..now, if they cant defend themselves...they would be victims, possibly murdered.
By the way Steve, there is no need to belittle the example provided, there are literally 1000's of examples like this, in varying degrees of scale in the USA each year. The example I provided, those people who defended themselves were released with no charges.

We are talking about America, and the police are always 10 minutes away. Gun free zones, are in fact a target zone. Nuts and criminals target these zones as no one can shoot back.
Its not hard, that is America.
