An international competition will be staged to buy new submarines for Australia with the fleet to be largely built offshore confirming a blow to South Australian jobs.This is (apparently) what the defence minister said before the election:
“We will deliver those submarines from right here at ASC in South Australia. The Coalition today is committed to building 12 new submarines here in Adelaide.”

Governments in their first term lie all the time.
My concern with this is that the Jap submarines are apparently not really good for our terrain!
