Heh

(Truth be told, I am not as down on George W as most observers, but this call was still obviously wrong.)

I used to like GW Bush. I used to stick up for him. Thats when I thought that Islam was behind terrorism. I now know better.

Of course GW Bush was a complete disaster. Using unrigged figures we can see that the economy has never recovered from his Presidency and we can see that this is the time when the US began to die. But the people you are ridiculing could come out on top. Because most history is a lie and the oligarchs court historians could come back and fudge the record like they always do.

They made great hero's out of the war criminals and gaudy failures; Churchill and Roosevelt. Lincoln seems like a simple honest fellow, who presided over another horrific disaster that he largely triggered. Lincoln got the overall strategy wrong but then he got most of the little things right. But he ought to be given a mixed review at best. And not be glorified as the greatest ever President. He composed fine prose English as Gore Vidal would have it. But the idea is to avoid civil war, like Andrew Jackson. Or foreign wars like Jackson's protege Martin Van Buren.

The idea is not to comfort people during a great depression like Roosevelt. The idea is to get out of a great depression quickly like President Harding. The idea is not to get into more debt like GW Bush. The idea is to get rid of the debt like Andrew Jackson.

NEVER forget Sheridan told us all breathlessly that the WMDS has been found.

If he has any foreign affairs understanding then he should have known that there were none there to be found.

They had this technique back then where in conservative-only publications they would show pictures of what looked like WMD and then any of us who brought attention to them were ridiculed. This is how these intelligence operations work. Until I saw the pattern I fell for this stuff too. Being as I had been a war booster I was furious when I found this pattern out. Now I see it everywhere. You look around for people to blame when you've been made a fool of like this. So you want to go a little easy on Sheridan here. Sheridan knew that terrorism had to be state sponsored. But none of us could ever have guessed which states were doing it. Not until all the evidence came out.
