I seem to getting particularly blasted with Christmas songs around my workplace this year, and I think it's turning me off the entire season. Certainly, any TV Christmas special in which the people start singing carols is getting me a bit queasy.
The Christmas songs keep the demons and evil spirits away. This is how far you have come from your roots. When I was young and wicked I saw the Chinese rituals with the firecrackers and the paper dragons. That also was there to keep the evil spirits away. But it didn't work. I managed to get real close. The Christmas carols would shoo me off in the old days. But now that I have become mature and benevolent they draw me in.
