Images brought to you by climate change

Yeah, well, here's hoping the dire bushfire season is killing any last vestiges of PR credibility of climate change denialism/lukewarmism for the great majority of the Australian public, as images like these are pretty powerful:

To be honest, I know it won't change the mind of those who have spent a decade or two determinedly believing every fake "sceptic" and billionaire funded denialist with crap arguments that were repeatedly debunked by actual scientists.   They are too invested in their view to risk losing face by admitting that they were wrong.

But there must be an element of the public that thought they would start taking it seriously when they could see how it could affect them personally.  Their day has come.

PS:  to Graeme - I'm just going to delete everything you have to say about this.  I have no time for your nonsense on this issue on a day like today.

Oh, and in light of recent anti-Semitic violence in America, all Jew-ish referencing crap from you I'll just be deleting as soon as I see it.

complete and utter bolloacks.
We have a record hazard reduction here in NSW.
What good did it do? When it is very dry it is next to useless unless you get rid of everything which is impossible both for logistics reason and for problems that would occur as we see now.

Record? I reckon thats nonsense. But supposing I were to believe this leftist fantasy meme. Record for one year perhaps. A belated effort. No its all about the fuel. And the left are the people blocking fuel reduction. Since when have you seen even one conservative getting in the way of fuel reduction?

Look at you right there. You are saying fuel reduction is useless. Thats a leftist meme against fuel reduction. You cannot help yourself.

you are an idiot

Who has responsibility for fuel reduction. the rural fire services. Are they all leftists

GMB said...

They are controlled by leftists. They are servants to the councils and to State policy. The councils often seem to sign away some of their authority to international agreements. The rural fire services don't set their own workload and policy. They lack taxing power. They are at the whim of greenies on the councils.

Look at the situation as we have seen it. Every dumb leftist in the country has been talking about "global warming" meaning the hydrocarbon industry, when the problem is fuel buildup. They are fucking lunatics. In the response to a fire problem all we hear is global warming. They are getting in the fucking way every moment. Every second they are getting in the way of sound policy. This thread particularly. And every thread on Quiggins and on this blog where fire is mentioned. Its constant obstructionism to actually dealing with the problem.

ah so the NSW and SA Government are controlled by leftists.

You cannot bullshit me about this because I go on leftist sites. Are they interested in fire fuel reduction ... NO. Interested in fuel reduction through goats ..... NO. Interested in hydrating the land with swales .... NO. Interested in fire breaks using well chosen tree species..... NO.

All they are interested in is depriving us of cheap energy. Which means destroying our manufacturing. Which means I'll be unemployed and likely with fires all around. These people are dangerous lunatics. Not merely harmless eccentrics with dopey ideas. They are traitors.

no amount of hazard reduction would have stopped these bushfires.

good to see you want cheap energy. you are therefore a big supporter of new solar PV quite easily the cheapest form of electricity and quite likely to be even more on the years to come.

GMB said...

No not at all. Fuel reduction is THE ONLY THING that could have reduced the problem. Its a one to one relationship between the fuel and the uncontrollability of the fire. And you are demonstrating the dumb left obstruction associated with the problem. Because the leftists who control the situation are bullshitting in exactly the same way and not prioritising fuel reduction enough.

Obviously fuel reduction has to be a relentless obsession. Now with burning and later with animal grazing and land hydration through swales. Its the left that has done this to us as you keep demonstrating by playing down the only relevant causal factor.
