I think it might be said that lying becomes gaslighting when it is put as "you didn't hear what you thought you heard" - trying to cause people to doubt their own perceptions. I guess it's debatable whether Pompeo has gone quite that far in this lie.
In any event, keen to hear his explanation after his boss just contradicted him.
