I think she's usually quite good. But she's completely wrong here. Only decades of Iranian demonisation could make her say something so topsy turvy. For starters this fellow was the most powerful non-Cleric in Iran. I thought that the Iranian people were great people and that we just had a problem with some of their crazy clerics that the revolution put on top. And so we address the situation by murdering the most powerful non-cleric?
And then the other thing was the utter savagery and inhumanity of ISIS. And this fellow was their absolute nemesis. If there isn't a hell we might need to invent one for the people who put the President up to this horrible act of terrorism.
Trumps not a man to admit he's made a mistake. And its hard to admit when you've made a mistake when people have been trying to persecute you when you are completely innocent. But this screw up is so over the top, if he wasn't being controlled by the worst people in the world you would want him to model his behaviour after Henry II.
I think this absolute cock-up is as bad a mistake as when Henry II accidentally got his old friend Thomas Becket killed. Then he had to make amends by doing public penance to the church for his loose tongue that had led to the tragedy. This is how bad this mistake is.
