The problem for other, poorer, countries

The BBC has a story about COVID 19 infections starting in a slum area in Mumbai.

Just so hard to believe that efforts to contain it will be successful in that environment.

And in another "how can they possibly cope" story, I see that Jakarta Post is still reporting low total numbers in Indonesia, but a lot of doctors dying:
At least 18 doctors across Indonesia have died in the fight against COVID-19, the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) said on Sunday.

One of the 18 doctors died from exhaustion while fighting the pandemic while the others had tested positive or were under surveillance for COVID-19.

Wahyu Hidayat and Heru Sutantyo were the latest doctors confirmed to have died of COVID-19, the association announced on Sunday.

Wahyu, an otolaryngologist, died at Pelni General Hospital in Bekasi, while Heru, a doctor from Diponegoro State University, died at Pertamina Central Hospital.
Also, looks like the Philippines is claiming similar numbers as Indonesia (3,660 cases, less than Australia!), but again it's hard to believe.

you would expect it to spread like wildfire in counties like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia moreso with people living together with large extended families

The Philippines has 5G at Clark Airport, Olongapo beach, and in Manilla. The President has the right idea, but nothing he can do can win. He locked them up until April 14th, and then continued it until May 1st. So a good chunk of the population is starving. He sent 6000 pesos, but not to everyone. Only one person per extended family. So if Grandma has 5 children, only one gets the 6000. Now he tells people that the most important thing facing the virus is a good diet, and thats true. But since no-one has been working only half of them may be able to afford the food. He should close down all the 5G but the evidence is not 100% completed on that score yet. What is clear is that ACE inhibitors are going to kill you if you get the virus. And that zinc combined with hydroxy-chlorine will help. The 5G evidence is there but not yet conclusively arranged.

My point is that in a poor densely packed place like that, there is fuck all they can do. They may be alright out of Manilla for now because of the temperature. But come next cold season they will be dropping like flies in Manilla. Everyone and their Momma will be choking to death.

Zinc and Hydroxy-Chloroquine. Zinc has a clear and known role in stopping virus reproduction once inside the cell. The problem is with getting the zinc inside the cell. Vitamin D has a clear known role in killing viruses. Have to remind myself what selenium does. I think the vitamin C scoops up a lot of the damage. Soaks it up, so to speak.
