Mr Bird opines

I haven't been letting Birdian content through in comments - it's been full of "rigged election" conspiracy mongering, and then much abuse of me for not letting comments through.   I've even stopped his other topic comments, because I am trying to get through the message that I would much prefer that he wasn't commenting here at all.  Go start another blog - even anonymously - and stop harassing mine, Graeme.

But here is the most recent one, so you can see his thought processes, and laugh (my bold):

I can't help thinking that there will have to be a military interim government. Trumps not coming back but it appears unlikely that the Biden Presidency can hold. Particularly as it wasn't Biden that was sworn in but some body double. Possibly his younger brother. Perhaps young James got some sort of facial surgery. Anyway whoever the imposter is; I wouldn't put money on guessing. It makes no difference whether it is James Biden or some other clown. But whoever he is, its going to be hard even for the combined power of the moneyed elites to hold this racket together for any length of time. So they had the power to produce this alternative reality. But do they have the power to maintain it as the public gets more and more impoverished and angry?

Here is real Biden talking about reviving American manufacturing. He's good for about half an hour then he has to change the diapers and his mind goes soggy. The word is that the anti-dementia treatments they have him on cause incontinence. But he is really quite good for half an hour. It is hard to tell him apart from the guy they need to roll out for these two hour engagements like the debates and the inauguration.

Great initiative by the way. And he won't get opposition for this attempt to catalyse a reboot of American manufacturing. But American government budgets being so out of whack will be a huge drain on the accumulation of producer goods.

I currently work casual in a small manufacturing outfit that pays first world wages for doing many things that you'd think that you could farm out to poverty stricken nations. This idea that slave wages meant powerful manufacturing is a nonsense idea and it doesn't go back further than the 90's. Prior to that it was understood that high wages and powerful manufacturing went hand in hand. High wages and powerful manufacturing was the norm in the English speaking world from Henry Ford on. And earlier in the German world.

What made the change was the incompetence in economics. We started getting trade imbalances which were due to banking dysfunction. So our economists started calling failure success and they decided that we didn't need manufacturing. Total catastrophe. Even carpet bombing from the Chinese probably couldn't do that kind of damage that bad thinking creates.

If you are not in farming or manufacturing there is probably a 50% chance that your job is a bullshit job. As in a Graeber bullshit job.

So this is real Biden. In good form.
