Update: I had the same thought:
All of Mar-a-Lago looks cringe to me, and certainly wildly out of place in a hot climate, to be honest:
It is a genuinely older building though (nearly 100 years old), and not some Trump invention. Still looks stupid for Florida.
Update 2:

Yeah I get what you are saying. Hard to know what a great high-rise luxury hot country design would look like. Back when I had a proper job I went to Bali and the place I was staying at ...... well you know Bali is on or near the equator. But the buildings were cleverly aligned to get a cool breeze coming off the ocean. So you didn't even need air-conditioning. Pretty sparse utilitarian design. But so well done I was kind of in awe of it. But scaling up to luxury on the equator ..... What does that even look like? Trumps palace and that carpet makes one feel a bit sea sick. Carpet is to keep the floor warm I would have thought. You'd have to wonder what the air-conditioning bills would be like there. With decades of energy stress ahead of us I think even the rich guys have to act responsibly in that space.
