It won’t be that bad. It’s another tax. The retaliation will hurt. But bankers who have been lending for utterly useless stuff will now have to lend some money for manufacturing.
I see a pretty continuous to decline since 2008. Official figures are rigged. I don’t see that decline arrested anytime soon unless Trump is willing and able to clean out the public sector. But the tariffs are unlikely to change that much.
