My embedded Youtube blitz continues, but this interview is well worth watching - Ezra Klein talking to the safety guy who resigned from OpenAI due to concerns about the company (and other AI companies) not taking safety seriously enough. (Not the young guy who appeared with Jon Stewart - this one is more mature in outlook and comes from a broader educational background.)
I particularly like the part where they get to the how the AI companies (or their leadership) are sounding "schizophrenic" (in the old popular and wrong sense of it meaning "split personality") in that they are saying both "this is going too fast we must slow down for safety's sake" as well as saying they can't slow down out of fear of competition, especially from China. And Huang, who has a squillion dollars worth of hardware to sell, is tutt-tutting that "it's only software, let's not get carried away with the safety panic." None of them are being coherent and convincing, but just sound like greedy hypocrits.
