Labor leader Kim Beazley's latest example of befuddlement again raises the question as to whether he has suffered neurologically as a result of his illness in 2004.
This was widely reported as being Schaltenbrand's syndrome. What is most surprising about this condition is how infrequently it appears in a Google or any other search I have tried. I can't be the only person who has tried to find medical stuff on this condition, but as it attracts only 3 pages on Google, and most of those links are to storied on Kim Beazley, it must be an extremely rare condition. Either that or it is generally called something else.

Thing is, it seems to be unrelated to befuddlement. Pressure headaches and such, but not the public symptoms displayed by Kimmy.
Mind you, Steve Bracks has even more problems with getting names right than does Beazley, and Bracks has no syndromes at all, that we know of.
Caz, you may well be right, although it was reported some time ago that some Labor people thought he was still affected by his illness (but I don't know that it was specified in what way.) They also may just have been his factional opponents making mischief.
The main point of my post, though, is how surprising it is to me that there is a medical condition in existence about which it is hard to find independent information on the Web.
