No the murdochs are merely reinforcing the ignorance. The have to or lose viewers.

I just subscribe to people I like on Twitter and it's a constant stream of short commentary (and they re-tweet stuff they find ridiculous, so I get to know what the other side is saying too.)
Twitter is essentially just micro-blogging.
