It's dry in Europe

Axios reports:

Drought conditions are affecting about 60% of the EU and the U.K., exacerbated by climate-change driven record heat across Europe this summer, according to new research from the European Drought Observatory.

Why it matters: France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands are facing water shortages and riverbeds are drying out across Europe. Dry conditions are severely affecting energy production, agriculture and river transportation.....

What they're saying: "Droughts have become our summer reality," tweeted Virginijus Sinkevičius, the European Commission's commissioner for environment, oceans and fisheries, on Tuesday.

  • 100 municipalities in France have no running water, the Rhine River's levels in Germany and France are so low the transportation of goods is under threat, and the Netherlands "faces an official water shortage," Sinkevičius noted.
  • "Restoring Nature is the best solution to change this," he added.

What to watch: Another searing heat wave was forecast to hit parts of western and central Europe this week into next week.

  • The Met Office has issued an amber heat warning for much of southern England and parts of Wales for Thursday through Sunday, on the heels of its first ever extreme heat warning last month. Heat alerts are also in effect across France.
  • London is forecast to see temperatures of 90°F (33°C) or above for four straight days starting Thursday, and temperatures will

And in France, nuclear power is affected:

After a major heatwave in 2003, France's nuclear safety agency set temperature limits at 28 degrees Celsius for rivers, beyond which power plants were required to reduce their production in order not to make the water even warmer and preserve the environment.

Temporary exceptions allow some plants to raise this limit by a few degrees during "exceptional situations".

Yeah yeah if it gets hot its global warming, if it gets cold its climate change, if it the sky is full of chemtrails its global weirding, if the kids are smoking strange smelling cigarettes and have tea cosies on their head its carbon pollution, if there are hurricanes, earth quakes and other extreme events (that satisfy various deep state geopolitical goals) then its not weather warfare, but rather its those fucking SUV's.

And if the waves start rolling backwards out to sea at Cronulla, we need a carbon price.

We get where you are coming from Steve, and its not from a scientific point of view.

If the water gets either too acidic or too hot it can't hold much oxygen, and thats when you have to switch on your paddles or all the animals on your fish farm are going to suffocate. Plus on the other side of the ledger, when the water is too warm, it doesn't serve as an effective enough cooler for these light water nuclear reactors. So they have to reduce power production ANYWAY. Even before they consider the fishes.

So lets not get excited about something the French do. To some extent this is just greenwashing standard reactor procedure in a temperate climate.

Does everyone understand that this fellow is a fucking moron right? And that the West now has a system for giving the most stupid people the top jobs. Or else this "insane clown posse" wouldn't be right now fighting the Russians in Eastern Ukraine. Easily the most stupid thing anyone can do on this planet in 2022. This sort of idiocy, where you don't actually address the problem right in front of you, has its parallels in history.

You know what I'm thinking of don't you. Yes it can only be these intense discussions of how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, when the fucking Turks are at the gates of Constantinople.

The answer to floods and droughts is the same answer. Carbon in the soil, and water retention features (swales, ponds, dams and check dams). When we lose soil we get BOTH more droughts and floods and more temperature variability.

A hydrated and flourishing landscape has a more even temperature because evaporation is an excellent air conditioner.

So these fucking assholes, who are killing us, are ignoring the real crisis, which is soil loss, and putting about this junk science lies, to do with CO2 release.
