I wonder what was going on here. It could be that no effective pain relief was available, or the nurse made a passing comment that was either misheard or misinterpreted by the Twitterer. As it is we only really have the story at third hand.
That's possible, Tim, but I have no doubt that there is an extremely worrying increase in a very nutty fundamentalist Christianity going on in America. It would not surprise me at all that members of that would try on advise like that in a hospital.

TBH, considering what nurses have to put up with, I'm not surprised when one of them gets stroppy/nutty like this one apparently did here. And thankfully, no, I've avoided that particular modern cult.
