It's been in the news that there has been a sudden surge in Trump campaign donations.
It's also clear that Trump's performances at his MAGA rallies lately are more rambling than ever, with much smaller crowds, many of which seem to leave even before he finishes. He also goes over his weird obsessions (water strength in showers, and not having enough water to use a dishwasher) again and again; so much so that it impossible to believe that his crowd isn't thinking "I've heard this before and I wish he would stop talking about it."
There's also the ridiculous attempt by him and his media team at Fox News and elsewhere to pre-empt a decent performance by Biden at this week's debate by claiming it will only be because he will be drugged up beforehand. ("A shot in the ass" being the additional detail he has now added.)
The other big news has been an increase in Biden's polling (which I always expected).
I suspect that there is a direct relationship between Trump's repetitive and poor public performances at his recent rallies and a surge in money from certain billionaires to try to prop up his campaign.
They're very worried, I think.
As for Elon Musk and his continual support of MAGA conspiracies - I find it hard to believe that he is supporting Trump and his minions when that group is completely against electric vehicles. Surely he is arguing against his company's interest.

They used the same tactic in the 2020 election. Trump kept saying the election would be rigged because the polls showed he was behind.
Where is the evidence that a cocktail of drugs will turn back an aged person's cognitive performance 20 years? A combination of high dose creatine weeks before the event, Adderall, lithium, and ketone supplementation might help but only at the margins.
The debate conditions will very much work against Trump's preferred rhetorical style. He can get away with blathering nonsense before his worshippers but when confronted with questions about policy he will fall apart. All Biden must do is trot out the cliches and policy positions and he will win the debate.
I'm not happy about either candidate but as I previously stated with Biden it doesn't matter because he is not leading the nation, the administration is. That's a good thing and many past leaders have heavily relied on the advice of people who know much more than them. A friend of mine told me that Clinton had a reputation for being incredibly well informed across a wide range of subjects but even he knew value of his advisors. Trump is the opposite, he sacked so many not because they were incompetent but because they challenged him.
It still irks me that serious media don't spend every day pointing out that claims by Trump and his media lackeys (Fox News and Newsmax, for example) are making outrageous and un-serious claims about Biden with zero evidence.
Instead it's like a resigned attitude of "well it's Trump and his lackeys - what can you do?"
Or like on Planet America, they note it and half giggle about it - but don't treat the role of outright lies and propaganda (and the billionaires who own the networks and don't interfere with their "stars") seriously enough.
There are some talking heads on youtube that constantly go after him(Tyler Cohen, Meidas Touch). I'm not sure what is happening with the MSM. That isn't relevant to my age group but younger ones pay more attention to social media information sources.
Perhaps the MSM are subject to editorial controls because of potential advertising revenue issues.
They should keep repeating Trump's claim that water destroys magnets. Or a set of videos with Trump's typical boast: I know more about X than anyone else! In a US senate hearing a US senator did a video collection of Trump's verbal gaffes and nonsense. A senator, not a journalist!
The billionaires just want another tax cut. Biden hurt them. I hope he wins and hurts them again.
