Depravity alert

The Defense Department said in a statement Thursday that the firing squad execution of convicted Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan will be live-streamed for the public to watch.

Earlier Thursday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said he wanted the execution to be public.

“He’s going to get a firing squad of soldiers. As it should be,” Hegseth said in an interview with far-right political activist Jack Posobiec. “We’ll make sure that people are able to watch it. That it’s public. Because people need to understand that there’s serious consequences for these types of things.”

Oh, right.  Like people in the US don't know that execution for mass murder is a thing in that country

Why not on the White House lawn, with Trump wearing a toga and laurel wreath and giving a theatrical "thumbs down" to the Fox News camera?   That would really get Hegseth's T rising.

This might backfire. (: Psychopaths love attention and modern public executions will be historical and endlessly replayed on social media.

I doubt it will happen. There are enough sensible religious conservative commentators on Twitter already saying this is wrong.

I hope you're right. Thanks for the heads up because there are increasing signs that MAGA is falling apart and that is another example.

This is appalling. I have no problem with capital punishment live streaming it is simply depraved as you said.
